Accessible Web Site Design
I specialise in no nonsense good design. Just because we are looking at a standards compliant, accessible web site doesn't mean it should be dull. Whether you are looking for the dry effectiveness of an academic styled site or something far more bold and bright, I can meet your needs.
I am happy to take on some or all aspects of your web site from initial design to finished article, and can host it on the internet on your behalf. It remains a confusing business to take out your own site address (URL) and actually get it on to the internet!

Quality of design is so important. How many web sites have you visited that look totally horrible, with links that don't work, garish flashing text or intrusive and irrelevant musical backgrounds? Read about what I have to say about web site accessibility. If you want an inaccessible site, please go elsewhere.
If you'd rather create your own website but are unsure about all that accessibility malarkey, I will guide you through the principles of good site design suited to your requirements, in a tuition role.
Animation
Please don't be taken in by the Flash Harrys who insist your web site has to be laden with Javascript or loads of animation or (worse) flashing text.
These are design no-nos for most people. Obviously certain types of web sites need that sort of thing - online games and so on. A clean well designed site can use such techniques very sparingly indeed, and much of the effect can be reproduced by correct use of CSS design techniques without the need for scripting at all.
I recommend restricting animation to the occasional small highlight, animation is not particularly accessibility friendly, but you can get away with it provided it's not the only means of accessing the information concerned.

Visit some existing sites, each with a different design flavour.
You will also be able to see some of the design techniques which are available to you.
Look at another version of this page which uses an alternate style sheet, replacing the graphics with an all white background.

The price depends on a lot of factors, and may reflect whether it is an income generating tool for you - not for profit organisations will be eligible for reduced pricing.
