Web Site Hosting
I offer the whole web service of advice, web site design, domain name arrangement and hosting, but I will be pleased to consider hosting your existing site for you.
All packages come with optional virus and spam protection for your email and an online Control Panel and FTP account to set up your own site. Should you prefer I can set things up for you for free (if it's basic) or for a one off charge of £10 per half hour (I need to charge if it's complicated and time consuming!).
All hosting packages are subject to my terms of service and are payable in advance. All prices are per annum. All packages include at least the same features as all lower ones, even if it is not stated explicitly.
Managed Basic Hosting £40.
This is the most basic hosting I offer. You get 20MB of
disk space, a monthly 2GB bandwidth
allowance and 1 email address - accessible via either POP3 or WebMail.
Recommended for simple sites where you don't expect to change it very often, i.e. maybe once or twice a year with minor changes. It is designed to be put up and left to get on with things. No scripts are supported (e.g. Guest Book).
Please note that this is a special low priced option, and that you don't have direct access to your settings or site updates with this option, I will be loading your files for you. The Iron option is only available if you arrange your web site design & maintenance with myself.
DIY Hosting with Database & Scripts £55
100MB of
disk space, a monthly 6GB bandwidth
allowance and 15 email addresses. You have 1
SQL database and 1 Mailing
List. You can also have up to 10 Sub Domains.
You will have 1 FTP account available to upload your own
files should you wish to do so. You can use PHP4, Perl5, CGI and have access
to a selection of useful ready to use scripts e.g. Guest
Book, Chat Room, Bulletin Board, Shopping
Cart, plus all features included with the Iron plan.
This is recommended for anyone with a bit of "web savvy" who would like to control their own email settings etc, but doesn't have a huge web site or lots of gadgets.
DIY Larger Site Hosting - £65
200MB of disk space, a monthly 8GB bandwidth
allowance and 50 email addresses. You have 2 SQL databases
and 2 Mailing Lists. You can also have up to 20
Sub Domains. You will have 2 FTP accounts available,
plus all features included with my cheaper plans.
This is recommended for anyone with a larger site, perhaps with a guestbook and a discussion forum.
Top End Hosting - £95
500MB of disk space, a monthly 20GB bandwidth
allowance and 200 email addresses. You have 5 SQL databases
and 5 Mailing Lists. You can also
have up to 40 Sub Domains. You will have 5 FTP
accounts available, plus all features included with my cheaper
plans.
Recommended for anyone with a large, fully featured web site.
Server & Connection Specification
All packages are hosted on a Fedora linux server using Apache web serving, PHP and MySQL. Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.60GHz
We use two network providers with BGP4 routing.
This means that if one provider goes down data will still be passed via the second
network. We
run 100 megabit links to Clara.net and Easynet,
both connected to LINX (London Internet Exchange)
via multiple Gig'E connections.
Databases
Each of these activities will require a unique SQL database, so you need to think about that while selecting a service plan.
